One of our most versatile commuter bikes, the Lorimer features a wide gearing range and puncture-resistant tires for all-day and all-terrain riding. But don’t let this sleek hybrid bike fool you: It’s just as ideal for commuting and running errands as it is for working up a sweat on city streets or bike paths. The ultra-lightweight, double-butted chromoly steel frame delivers a light and smooth ride everywhere life takes you. While similar in design to its sibling the Roebling, the Lorimer sets itself apart with a more compact cockpit and wider saddle.

Half year review, a short distance commuter

Riding this bike since last September for commuting and errands. I was looking for a simple yet attractive-looking bike, something classic and low-profile. I commute with my bike about 4 miles on sunny days in north Texas. Although my commute pathway has some gentle slopes, none of them is challenging so 9-speed options feel more than enough. The puncture-resistance tire works well, I haven't faced a puncture yet. And I also like the reflective tape on the rim. Overall, I am satisfied but recommend two upgrades. First, the stock hand grip is not good. With that, I feel pressure in my palm only after taking 5~10 minutes. Second, rim brake pads. The stock pad leaves black residue all over the wheels, chains, and so on. Kool Stop pads have worked well without any residue. They are not that expensive and super easy to switch.

Thank you for your half-year review of our Lorimer bike. We're glad to hear that it's been a great companion for your short distance commutes and errands. We designed it to be simple yet attractive, with a classic and low-profile look. It sounds like it's been perfect for your sunny rides in Texas. We're happy to hear that the puncture-resistant tires have been working well for you. Thank you for your recommendations for upgrades. We will definitely take your feedback into consideration for future improvements. Happy riding! -Ryan Zagata

great simple bike for my teen

Got this for my 13yo daughter for mostly city street/path riding. Not much to say other than it’s just perfect for this use case and she loves the bike. It’s simple, rides smoothly, gearing ratios are great, and it fits her well. Lovely bike.

Thanks so much Aaron. We're so happy to hear that it's been a great fit for your daughter's city riding adventures. We agree, it's a lovely bike with smooth riding and perfect gearing ratios. Keep having fun out there and welcome to the Brooklyn Bicycle Co. family. -Ryan Zagata

An easy purchase and a lovely bike

Our experience buying this bike and the bike itself were both really good. The bike was shipped to our local bike shop quickly and without a hitch. The bike itself is just beautiful. We bought this for an 11 year old girl. She loved it right away.

Many thanks for sharing Steven. We are thrilled that your daughter loves her Lorimer. -Ryan Zagata

Love my Lorimer

One of my best purchases of all time. My Lorimer bicycle is a classic beauty. I’m just shy of 5’2 and the medium is a great fit for me. I’ve had other pretty bicycles before but the combination of simple yet thoughtful design, its light weight, and the ease of purchase make this one my favorite so far. Even after adding a rack and fenders, it’s still easy for me to carry and maneuver the bike. Though I’m more used to step throughs, after the first one or two rides I am now very comfortable mounting and dismounting it. The gears make the hills near my house surmountable, even for someone who’s not a seasoned cyclist. The only problem is now I’m obsessed with this company and I’m eying the blue or black Willow…

Thanks so much for sharing Sofiya. We are thrilled that you are enjoying your commuter bike. We've got a black Willow with your name on it. -Ryan Zagata
