We asked style blogger Conni Jespersen to show us her San Diego. Conni is a personal wardrobe consultant and virtual wardrobe stylist living in San Diego with her husband and puppy, Miles. Her vibrant photos exude SoCal. Check out her itinerary for exploring San Diego's trendiest neighborhood, North Park:
San Diego is a vibrant city pocketed with diverse cultural communities, unique shops and tasty eats. One of these neighborhood, and a favorite of mine, is North Park. Set to the north of Balboa Park, North Park has a host of hip cafes, great restaurants, a farmers market and open-air bazaar and lively breweries. Below is my guide to visiting North Park by bike in this San Diego bike tour. This neighborhood has a laid back Southern California day life and the following itinerary is meant to be followed at your leisure.
Communal Coffee
Scents of nutty coffee and fresh flowers greet you as you enter this bustling coffee shop. Communal Coffee not only hosts an indoor floral space but is a hub for local freelance bloggers, writers, friends, and just about anyone searching for that great cup of coffee and hip environment. Enjoy a simple baked good or San Diego staple, avocado toast, while sipping on a hot or cold brew. Before biking off to the next stop check out the COFFEE + FLOWERS mural outside, it makes for a pretty great Instagram spot!
Pigment
After being sufficiently fueled by caffeine and a savory pastry you should be ready for some shopping! Pigment is almost like a shop within a shop within a shop. It has unique finds, from kitchen goods, to barware, to a DIY succulent station. Pigment has almost any and everything kitschy and that you would get to impress your trendiest friend. Their gradient pink wall outside has become a staple for Instagrammers everywhere.
Casa Artelexia
Willow Three in Coumbia Blue in front of Casa Artelexia's storefront.
Casa Artelexia is a fantastic small shop curated with handmade goods from all over Mexico. It is packed with a colorful infusion of traditional textiles, art goods, and unique finds. A great stop for gift inspiration!
Holy Matcha
Bike over to Holy Matcha an uber trendy Japanese tea spot that just opened this year and already has a cult following. The décor mixes traditional southern California design with blush pink accents and fantastic palm print wallpaper. You can meet all of your powdered tea needs here, from a matcha lemonade to a ceremonial matcha tea. If you’re hankering for a snack I suggest dairy free donuts or a fruit bowl (go ahead, you’ve earned it!).
Belching Beaver
San Diego has become the home base of hundreds of craft breweries. At the top of this list is Belching Beaver with one of my favorite hibiscus infused beers on tap. This dog friendly, bike friendly, family friendly brewery is a great spot to spend an hour or two catching up with locals and out-of-towners alike before you head over to the next stop for dinner.
URBN North Park
By this point of the day you have most likely biked up an appetite, that's why I've suggested heading over to URBN North Park for their mouthwatering wood oven eats. You can munch on one of their signature pies or create your own all while washing it down with a crisp craft beer!
And that wraps up your night and my bike tour of San Diego!
